The team preparing for the 2014 Africa Goal project is made up of many of the same people who coordinated the 2006 and 2010 campaigns, as well as some new faces. All members are keen football fans, hardy travelers and are committed to reducing HIV prevalence in the region. Each of the team members brings to the project a specific skill set, individual experience and expertise. Similar to a football team, selection has been carefully considered and every Africa Goal member has key roles and responsibilities – together, they make the perfect team! As in previous campaigns, the 2014 team comprises media professionals, technicians, logistics experts, as well as health and development practitioners who have experience in HIV and AIDS initiatives across Africa.
